Mongrace Montessori House and Day care Centre, Newtown, welcomes children from 1.10yrs of age. As these toddlers walk through our doors, their hearts and minds are riddled with anxieties. This is where the settling down activities of rhymes, music, songs, puzzles and stacking toys come in handy, along with the love and affection of the Aunties and Didis.
The Preliminary Activities of Exercises of Practical Life, such as, threading beads, sorting of objects, Balls and Tongs, helps them improve their fine motor skills, concentration skills, firmness of grip, hand-eye coordination, wrist movement, sequencing skills and more. Activities are age appropriate and based on the ability of the child.
Parallelly, they are introduced to Sensorial activities that help them to learn skills of order and discrimination, while refining their senses. They learn size, colour, texture, shape, sound, weight, number counting and measuring quantity among other things. By working left to right and, up and down, they prepare for reading and writing.
Language as a means of communication is introduced and encouraged from the very first day. However only when the child has developed the appropriate skills of order, co-ordination, concentration and independence through the EPL and Sensorial activities, we guide them towards the language apparatus. The children learn to trace and make patterns using Drawing Insets, moving on to tracing of Vowels and Consonants, followed by the oral phonetic analysis and the Large Moveable Alphabet box for word building. Conversation classes are held through story telling sessions and vernacular classes.
Basics of Mathematics is introduced when the learn to count using the Number Rods. Sand Paper Figures, Cards and Counters, Golden Beads and other apparatus are gradually introduced to explain the decimal system, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division even. Number writing is introduced like alphabets through the Drawing Insets. Children use copies to practice their skills only after absorbing through the apparatus.
Special interview sessions are conducted to aid in High school admissions. We help the children to face the outer world confidently, so that they can excel everywhere.

Our children can learn through their own experiences and at their own pace. We allow them to respond at any moment to the inquiring mind that exists in all humans and builds a solid foundation for life-long learning. Here Teachers and children and Teachers and parents work together as a warm and supportive community.
Our Day Care programme assures you that children are secured, comfortable and happy in the friendly environment. We provide them clean and hygienic surroundings along with balanced and delicious meals which keep them energetic and healthy. Self-expression is nurtured in all children where they experience art, music, dance, elocution, writing and other forms of creative arts with confidence and passion.
According to Dr.Maria Montessori-“Early childhood education is the key to the betterment of Society” .Our goal is to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn, thereby developing a benevolent Society.
