New Town - Activities

These are two fun activities which children love.

Annual Sports Day was held in February. Children participate enthusiastically in different types of races. Honey Bee and Honey Pot, Shapes race, Bunny race, Tiger cub race, Ball race, Flag race, Catterpillar and leaf race etc were the different races. Children were encouraged to cheer for their friends. Teams are given importance as Collaboration and not competition is the focus. Sports day is conducted with the Montessori philosophy that all are winners and each child was presented a gift. Sports was organized for Free School children and Day Care children.The staff and teachers too look forward to events planned for them.

Class picnic for children above 3yrs 6 months is held in the ground nearby. The children enjoy the picnic with their friends and teachers. They also enjoy the special picnic menu.The younger children have a picnic on the school terrace.

Grandparents’ Day Celebration is held in December. The teachers and the little stars work very hard to put up a programme for grandparents. It is an interactive programme where by grandparents and grandchildren perform for one another. The objective of this interactive celebration is to not only help children bond with their grandparents but also to showcase the songs and dances they learn in school. We choose a medley of songs learnt through the year and punch it with a couple of songs specially created by the very creative Mongrace team for the grandparents. The very excited grandparents too perform for their little champions.

Family day is a celebration where the activities of the Day Care children are showcased. Families of children are invited and it gives them an opportunity to bond with the Mongrace family and also among themselves. The parents are assured that as the child was very important to both teachers and parents, by working closely, we can make a strong team

Montessori Apparatus Demonstration and Project Display

The Annual Exhibition and Project Display is an eagerly awaited event at Mongrace Montessori House and Day Care Centre. The highlight of the display is the apparatus display and the presentations of the Montessori method made by the different teachers. Parents appreciate the fact that the method of teaching using the apparatus is explained in great detail.

The project display has collaborative work by teachers and students. Parents of the students and guests are all very thrilled to see the very beautiful and magnificent display of art work on canvas. The projects are conceived by the Mongrace team and executed to perfection by our Art and Craft Teacher using various child friendly activities like Spray painting, Colour dabbing, Cutting/Tearing

and pasting, Thumb printing, Finger tip printing, Vegetable/leaf / flower printing, Sand Art, Marble Crafttc . The excellent presentation is a pointer to the high standards set in Mongrace Montessori House and Day Care Centre.
